Australian fans who waited impatiently at the Sydney Airport to see 1D arrive were devastated when the band disappeared out the back door without saying hello to their adoring admirers. Band member Niall Horan tried to appease disappointed supporters by tweeting, "Australia we're here, sorry we couldn't come out, airport police said it wasn't safe, we really wanted to come out and say hi, cya soon." The mood was soon lifted when fans caught a glimpse of One Direction's Zayn Malik sans shirt through the window of the band's hotel room. The excitement continued for fans as the boys took off their shirts and basked in the sun during a fishing trip around the Sydney harbor. Fans followed the action (and the shirtless photos) closely online tweeting, "Day One in Australia, & our boys are shirtless. Just watch, by tomorrow we'll have close ups of them in their birthday suits," "Shirtless pictures of Zayn, Harry and Liam all under 24 hours ;)" and "I think everyone agrees that the boys should come to australia more often." Tweeps are talking about which they prefer, blondes or brunettes, with the fifth-place topic and tweeting that it's all fun and games until... with the second-place trending topic. Social network Facebook has paid a reported $1 billion to purchase photo-sharing and retro filter app Instagram. Tweeps are using their 140 characters to weigh in on the acquisition tweeting, "Zuckerberg purchases Instagram at $1Billion. <- He should have downloaded it for free like the rest of us," "Dear Facebook, Please Don't Ruin the Instagram" and "if a picture is worth a thousand words, a website with a boatload of pictures is now worth $1 billion."
