| Google+ trends: 'Simpsons' creator reveals real Springfield location Apr 11th 2012, 09:27 AFP Relax News – 1 hr 52 mins ago Matt Groening, the creator of the hit animated series The Simpsons has finally revealed the location of the real Springfield: Oregon. In an interview with Smithsonian's Claudia De La Roca, Groening discloses that "Springfield was named after Springfield, Oregon. The only reason is that when I was a kid, the TV show Father Knows Best took place in the town of Springfield, and I was thrilled because I imagined that it was the town next to Portland, my hometown. When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name." Google+ (G+) users are still lamenting the death of Commodore founder and Atari owner Jack Tramiel. Tramiel died on April 8 aged 84. The developer preview of Google's updated Chrome operating system has got plussers discussing the merits of the more "Windows-like" Aura build. "I like Google's u-turn.
