The Masters Golf Tournament, or US Masters, is one of the four major golf tournaments and is held every year at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. The tournament is normally held the first week of April and this year ran from Monday, April 2, to Sunday, April 8. The popular photo sharing iOS app Instagram was also a popular search topic over the past few days due to a series of major announcements by the developers. The app's time in the spotlight began with the April 3 announcement that Instagram, a long favorite of Apple fans, was now available on Android, before releasing a statement on Monday confirming that it had been acquired for a mind-blowing $1 billion by Facebook. Events marking the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic, including a reissuing of the famous film of the same name in 3D, pushed the name of the ill fated boat into fifth place. The generic term "Easter" was also a popular Google search over the past week as was French weather with the term "meteo," ESPN's cricket site "cricinfo" and Chinese-language gaming site "4399." The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days, as measured by Google Insights and recorded April 10, were: - masters 2012 (+1,150%)
